With the CCNP Routing and Switching lab kit you get a pair of Cisco 3750v2 IOS 15.0 Layer 3 Fast Ethernet stackable switches with Open Shortest path First (OSPF) routing support, advanced quality of service (QoS), rate limiting, access control lists (ACLs), and basic static and Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and OSPF routing functions, advanced hardware-based IP unicast and IP multicast routing as well as policy-based routing (PBR), IPv6 routing and IPv6 ACL support and many new or enhanced features over the 3550, 3560 and 3750 switches. Cisco is now testing on being able to configure a switch stack and with this Lab Kit you can create one.

You also receive two Cisco 2960 LanBase switches running IOS 15.0 so you can learn the currently tested IOS. These switches have 24 or 48 ports and two gigabit uplink ports and come with the Enhanced Image IOS loaded which delivers intelligent services such as advanced QoS, rate limiting, security filters, and multicast management to the network edge.

CCNP Routing & Switching Standard Additional Equipment Included:

Lots of accessories are also included,  including two Cisco Aironet 1252 802.11a/b/g/n access point.  This unit supports WPA2 and other security features you will need to learn. Seven HWIC-1DSU-T1 serial cards, one NIM-1MFT-T1 serial card, as well as one Cisco NM-AIR-WLC6-K9. This allows you to gain knowledge on both types of serial interfaces. Plus plenty of cables to wire up all those ports in your labs.

Additional configuration information:

To configure the routers and switches, you need a computer with a DB9 serial port to use with the console cable.  However, most of today’s computers do not have this port. Please note that when resetting a password on some Cisco devices, you need to press CTRL-BREAK while the unit is first powered on.  Many of the “cheap” USB to serial adapters do not pass this code, ours does!
