When it comes to VoIP, there is nothing like “hands-on” experience! Having your OWN lab kit IS the best way to learn. Our CCNA Voice Standard Lab Kit provides you with everything that you need to help you pass the exams except a CUCM server.
The CCNA Certification (formally Voice and Video certifications) requires two exams to be passed to become certified. The first exam (210-260 exam) covers many topics including CME (Call Manager Express), CUCM (Cisco unified CallManager), CUE & Unity (Voicemail) CUPS (Cisco Unified Presence) and more. We include all the (demo license) Cisco software you need to learn CUCM, CUC, CUPS, SDM, CCP, Cisco Communicator and others with your purchase of this Lab Kit. We also provide you with backup copies of the Cisco IOS’ plus additional software including a TFTP server and other utilities.
The second exam (210-265) tests your skills to implement various Cisco Video endpoints in converged Cisco video infrastructures. It also tests a candidate’s ability to implement and troubleshoot Cisco Unified Communication and Collaboration, TelePresence, and Digital Media Player in different Cisco business video solution architectures. However, this test does not need a lab to study for as most questions are on the equipment specifications, features, and very little on configuration or setup. But, if you want a pair of Cisco 9971 color video IP phones with camera to help you study the video side of the exam, we offer an add on option at https://www.certificationtrainingsolutions.com/product/collaboration-video-add/.
Voice and video training is provided by the Cisco CCNA Collaboration book set and you can configure the labs in the books on your lab gear. The book has quizzes, test preparation guidelines, and practice questions.
Cisco changed the Voice and Video exams in 2015 and now they focus on some of the new features offered in CallManager Express 9 and above and the CU suite 9 and up. Cisco 2900 and 3900 series are required to run CME 9.0 and above however, the price of these routers is still too high for most students to have in their home lab. This is why this lab kit uses 2800 series routers; you can learn what you need to pass the 210-260 exam using this lab kit.
We include one Cisco 2811 router running IOS 15.1 with and two Cisco 2801 routers also with IOS 15.1 and CME 8.6. These routers are fully upgradeable and have 2 Fast Ethernet ports, USB, console and AUX ports, 2 HWIC/VWIC/WIC/VIC and 2 VWIC/WIC/VIC (4 HWIC/VWIC/WIC/VIC on the 2811 routers) slots with various configurations. The 2811 also has 1 NM/NME enhanced network module slot, and all three routers have 256 megabytes DRAM with 128 megabytes of flash RAM.
Using the Cisco 2811 router running IOS version 15.1 and CallManager Express 8.6 and your own server for CUCM as your main/HQ office. Next configure one of the 2801 routers as a Branch Office and the second 2801 router at the PSTN. Some of the labs show a second branch office and you can purchase an optional router and some other cards for that office if you wish.
There is no need to have a power supply for each IP phone, a 3560PS-Sv2 multi-layer Power over Ethernet switch (supporting true Layer 3 routing running 15.0 IOS) has the ability to route data just like a router with the Enhanced Image load, which is our default load, and many other enhanced features.
Cisco IP phones are part of the lab kit too, two 7941 and two 7961 monochrome IP phones are included. With these phones you will be able to study and learn VoIP usage in a Cisco environment.
The VWIC-1MFT-T1 and VWIC-2MFT-T1 voice/data serial interface cards simulate a T1 WAN voice connection. Connect this Lab Kit to the Internet and sign up for a SIP provider and you can make calls over the Internet too.
For “hands-on” experience with Cisco CallManager, Cisco Unity, and Cisco Presence, just add a server or PC and start learning Cisco’s full VoIP solution. If you do not purchase one of our voice servers, we highly recommend purchasing one of our SATA hard drives with the demo software on it to save days of downloading time. See below for a link to the hard drive option.
And your hard earned money is not wasted, as your needs grow, just add additional routers, switches, and modules to take your skills even further.
We also provide you with UNLIMITED FREE technical support for each certification lab you purchase. We’re just an e-mail or phone call away ready to help you.

To configure the routers and switches, you need a computer with a DB9 serial port to use with the console cable. However, most of today’s computers do not have this port. You can solve this problem by purchasing a USB to serial adapter like the one we offer below. Please note that when resetting a password on some Cisco devices, you need to press CTRL-BREAK while the unit is first powered on. Many of the “cheap” USB to serial adapters do not pass this code, ours does!
At the bottom of this page you will find a link to our USB to serial adapter as well as many other great accessories.
